Consignment Policies
- Membership
- Membership accounts will be numerically assigned by the BNB. Only one account per sponsor is authorized.
- A BNB Membership Card and/or valid military ID card must be shown to pick up a consignment check, withdraw consigned items, or to transact any additional consignment business.
- Each membership account may only consign a maximum of 7 days per month.
- A BNB Membership Card must be shown to the consignment clerk prior to completion of a new consignment.
- A $1.00 replacement fee will be charged to replace a lost Membership Card.
- This fee must be paid prior to the new card being issued.
- Consignment Item Fee
- A consignment item fee will be added to the consignor’s listed price for each item consigned. Items priced up to $4.75 will have a $.50 fee. Items priced $5.00 & up will have a $1.00 fee. (The item fee assists the BNB in recouping operating expenses.)
- Item fees are:
- Paid by the consumer at the time of purchase.
- Not charged or paid to a consignor at any time.
- Not charged to a consignor if the item is withdrawn.
- Consignment Item List
- The consignment item list must be filled out completely by the consignor before a consignor is placed in the number que. The consignor must sign the consignment item list.
- The consignment clerk will note the consignment pickup/expiration date on the item list. (The consignment pickup/expiration date will not be adjusted for store closures or holidays with the exception of any other long-term pre-planned closures).
- Tagging of Consigned Items
- All consigned items will have a sales tag attached that has the account number, consignment number of the item, a brief item description, size/color (where applicable), and sell price.
- All consigned items will have a tag placed on an inside label/seam or on the underside of the item. The tag will have the account number, consignment number of the item, and the price.
- Consignment Item Status
- At any time, the consignor may request a computer printout of their items consigned from the reception desk in the Consignment Room.
- Consignors are responsible for keeping track of their items sold or not sold.
- The consignor shall retain ownership of their consigned property until the close of business on the pickup/expiration date.
- Consignors will NOT be notified of an item’s pending expiration.
- Consignment Period
- All consignments expire 45 days from date of consignment.
- If an item expires on a closed business day, it is the consignor’s responsibility to withdraw their item prior to this date.
- Items that are not sold or withdrawn by the end of the consignment period will be donated and become the property of the BNB.
- Questions Concerning A Consignment
- Any questions concerning problems with a consignment or payment of a consigned item should be directed to the BNB Management for resolution. Any such claims or corrections must be made within 45 days of the contract’s expiration date.
- Information may not be given over the phone concerning consignment status or checks.
- The BNB is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
- Miscellaneous
- Sales by consignors in the BNB parking lot or other nearby vicinities are prohibited.
- All sales of items consigned are final. (Exceptions may be made by BNB Management should the item not be able to be tested prior to purchase.)
